Guillerme et Chambron

Robert Guillerme (1913 - 1990) French, Furniture/Architectural Designer
Jacques Chambron (1914 - 2001) French, Furniture/Architectural Designer

Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron first met in 1940 while imprisoned in a work camp during the Nazi occupation of France, where they discovered a shared artistic vision. Both formally trained, Guillerme at the École Boule and Chambron at the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Reims, they founded their Lille-based design firm, Votre Maison, in 1948. Working alongside master cabinetmaker Émile Dariosecq, the duo became known for furniture that celebrated natural materials like wood and leather, rendered in clean lines and functional, enduring forms.
